This repository contains a selection of output variables from two different lumped parameter models of the cardiovascular circulation. The two models differ for the level of detail of the systemic circulation: -the condensed model (CM) is characterised by a single compartment representing the systemic circulation, -the extended model (EM) is characterised by a more detailed description of the systemic circulation with 6 different compartments (i.e., upper body, splanchnic district, renal district, reproductive organs district, left and right leg). The reproduced subject is characterised by a BSA of 1.9 m2 and has an herat rate (HR) of 75 bpm. There are three different condition described: - the physiological condition (physio folder) - the cardiogenic shock condition (cs folder), that is characterised by reduced left ventricular contractility - the cardiogenic shock condition supported by VenoArterial ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (cs_ECMO folder), that represents the pathological condition supported by the VA-ECMO device The following folders are reported in the repository: -subject_CM_physio.zip contains the variables representing a physiological condition in the condensed model -subject_CM_cs.zip contains the variables representing a cardiogenic shock (cs) condition in the condensed model -subject_CM_cs_ECMO.zip contains the variables representing a cardiogenic shock (cs) condition supported by VA-ECMO (VenoArterial ExtraCorporeal membrane Oxygenation) in the condensed model -subject_EM_physio.zip contains the variables representing a physiological condition in the extended model -subject_EM_cs.zip contains the variables representing a cardiogenic shock (cs) condition in the extended model -subject_EM_cs_ECMO.zip contains the variables representing a cardiogenic shock (cs) condition supported by VA-ECMO (VenoArterial ExtraCorporeal membrane Oxygenation) in the extended model Each folder contains the following variables in a matlab format: -Pao : pressure at the aortic level -Plv : pressure at the level of the left ventricle (LV) -Vlv : volume at the level of the left ventricle (LV) -Prv : pressure at the level of the right ventricle (RV) -Vrv : volume at the level of the right ventricle (RV) -Qmv : flow at the level of the mitral valve -Qpua : flow at the level of the pulmonary arteries -Qpv : flow at the level of the pulmonary valve -Q_vb_tot : flow at the level of the systemic vascular bed In the CM model the vascular bed is a single compartment In the EM model the flow at the level of the systemic vascular bed is the sum of the flows at the level of the vascular bed in the six systemic districts present in EM (upper body, splanchnic district, renal district, reproductive organs district, left and right leg) -Ppuve : pressure at the level of the pulmonary veins In the folders realted to the extended model are reported two additional variable to give and idea of the output at the organ level, in particular in the kidney compartment: -Pkv : pressure at the venous level in the renal disctrict -Qk : flow at the level of the vascular bed in the renal disctrict In the repository are also reported some additional variables as: -SBP_CM_cs : systolic blood pressure for different levels of impairment in the cardiogenic shock condition in the condensed model -SBP_EM_cs : systolic blood pressure for different levels of impairment in the cardiogenic shock condition in the extended model -Hp_CM : prevalence to be assigned to the VA-ECMO to identify a pump flow of 3.6 L/min and a mean arterial pressure of 60 mmHg in each impaired condition represented by the condensed model -Hp_EM : prevalence to be assigned to the VA-ECMO to identify a pump flow of 3.6 L/min and a mean arterial pressure of 60 mmHg in each impaired condition represented by the extended model -Elv_physio : time-varying elastance curve that describes the mechanical beahaviour of the LV in a physiological condition in both the models -Elv_CM_cs : time-varying elastance curve that describes the mechanical beahaviour of the LV in the cardiogenic shock condition in the condensed model -Elv_EM_cs : time-varying elastance curve that describes the mechanical beahaviour of the LV in the cardiogenic shock condition in the extended model
